My First Farewell.

Hello World,

My name is Lucas Alan Colgrove, and I am one of Richard Soffe's grandsons.

Yesterday, 24 hours ago, my dear grandfather left this world to go to heaven. Below you can find the first obituary that has been published in his honor.

My grandfather was one of my dearest friends. He was known as the Curmudgeon, and I was his Junior Curmudgeon.

We spent a lot of time together, and I want people to know how amazing he was.

He had a testimony of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and he knew how much he loved every one of us.

My grandfather knew of the love that exists for him.

One of the last things he did in this earthly life is sing one of my favorite hymns of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints: Did You Think To Pray?

As I walked into the hospital room after he passed, he reminded me of an angel, so peaceful, and I am glad to know that he is no longer suffering the pains of this world.

One of his children described him as a hero. I would also agree that he was one of my heroes.

Here is the first version of the obituary that has been posted in his honor.
